What is your real name if different than your design name? Kerrie Bantoft
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family. I live in Australia on 40 acres of pure Aussie Bush with lots of wildlife around. My children are grown and flown the coop so I have plenty of time to spend on my designing.
How long have you been designing CU products and how did you get started? I have been designing products for over 6 years.. my love of paper scrapping and using computers got me started.

Do you design PU products as well? Yes I have lots of kits and other PU products
What programs do you use to design your products? I use Photoshop but I also dabble with DAZ 3D
What is your favorite time of the day to design? Anytime LOL
Can you give us a great tip for using one of your products to create digital scrapbooking kits? I have 4 Border Bonanza sets in store.. you can colourise and texturize them or clip mask a paper from your kit over the border, then you can adorn them with various elements you have already designed for your kit .. like flowers, swirls, butterflies etc
What are a few of your favorite products that you've made? I like the Text Paths and Text in Shapes sets.. you can easily edit the font type, size and colour. They can be great additions to enhance kits
Do you have plans for your next set of CU products? I have a few ideas for more actions for Photoshop & Photoshop Elements and I also welcome ideas from customers
What do you love to do when you are not working? I love paper scrapping and card making and also love to ride motorbikes
What is your favorite beverage? Pepsi Max .. I don’t drink tea or coffee
If you could learn anything what would it be? I am currently learning Corel Paint Shop and also Adobe Illustrator

Have you heard? I am the new owner of DigiScrapAddicts.com. The site team and I have been hard at work in the last month updating the site. We have an upgraded forum, layout gallery and a product gallery where you can post your product previews.
I will be bringing a new designer consignment store to the site and am having a special call to find designers who want to work on a monthly project with me and some other amazing digital designers.
These are the details:
Announcing a new and exciting collaborative project at DigiScrapAddicts - a build your own kit model taken to the next level - Group Therapy.
Build-a-kit (BAK) projects can be seen around digiland but DSA is launching a carefully crafted and intentionally marketed version designed to fit the culture of the site while creating a fantastic opportunity for designers to sell their products to our subscribers and fans in our new store.
Have you participated in BAKs on your current site? They can be great traffic and sale drivers and have the following great things going for them:
- smaller design commitment than a full kit
- benefit of group marketing by others in the store
- value priced for the customer
- customers get to sample different designers and pick their favorite kind of kit parts
- can be repackaged into kits
What’s the downside?
One of the problems with the usual model is not getting many sales after the promotional period on the products. This could be due to a couple factors:
- not recognizing that bargain hunters are an important segment of the digital scrapbooking customer base
- Not realizing that short sales windows don’t always fit with today’s ecommerce environment
Group Therapy is going to be specific and intentional in how products are built and marketed. Pack size, theme and pricing will be uniform and optimized for the best customer experience and designer bottom line. The sales cycle will be designed to capture the bargain market with attention to today’s need for repeated, targeted sales messages over a longer time frame.
A comprehensive marketing plan will be implemented over the life of the product including newsletters, social media, and other forms of advertising. For the first time ever, customers will be able receive discounts on future purchases when they share product news with their friends via social media and email with an exciting and unique email coupon referral follow-up program installed in the cart. I believe this component could revolutionize how digital scrapbooking products are sold and I don’t know of any other stores using it right now.
Would you like to be a part of Group Therapy?
Designer Requirements
- Create 3-5 Group Therapy packs per month. Packs are small collections of embellishments, papers, brushes, journal cards etc. Minimum upload is three per month
- Packs must be exclusive to DSA for 3 months and represent your best work
- Must have an active Facebook fan page. No exceptions.
- Must have either a current blog or a newsletter. No exceptions.
- 3 month commitment
- Must have at least 1 CT or be willing to create one sample LO yourself
- Must be willing to participate in specific marketing steps with your blog/newsletter and FB presence on a regular basis during the sales cycle. You will be learning how to market your other products better in the process!
How to Apply
Submit the following information to Christine Smith, DSA owner via email - admin@digiscrapaddicts.com || Please put Group Therapy in the subject line
- Link to your store(s)
- Link to your blog or newsletter. If newsletter, provide link to your most recent mailing.
- Link to your Facebook page
- Link for me to download a sample of your work such as a Build a Kit pack you have made for another store or a collection of 3-4 papers and 5-6 embellishments from your current product line.
TIMELINE
All applications must be received by June 20, 2013.
Every applicant will be acknowledged.
Offers and declines will be emailed June 22.
Designer agreement will be made available for review for all those offered a spot in the store. Agreement must be signed and returned by June 24.
1st round of products must be uploaded by July 10
