Change the layers Blending Mode (shortcut): For Photoshop and PS Elements users Have you ever tried experimenting with different layer effects?  It is amazing how just changing the blend modes will affect the look of your image. Try it and see what effect it has on your images.  Here is a quick and easy way to cycle through the blending modes just using your keystrokes. Make the layer you want to change active (highlighted) then press your shift + (plus) key to change to the next blending mode. Press the shift -- (minus) key to change to the previous blending mode. Added bonus: If you have chosen your painting tool and then change the blending modes, it changes the blending modes of the painting tool.
