Do you have a blog? Are you getting comments on your posts? I recommend taking the extra bit of time to acknowledge every person who leaves you a note, however big or small. It can be as simple as “Thank you visiting my blog and leaving me a comment today! I appreciate the note.” If possible, include the first name of the person who left you a comment. I’ve seen some designers leave longer messages back about subscribing to a newsletter or checking out their store but I prefer just a quick personal note rather than a canned sale message for this interaction. They’ve already been to my blog and may have spent quite a bit of time looking around already so I don’t want to assume they don’t know about me or my message already. This action only takes a few minutes once in a while but is a great way to stay connected with the people who took time to send you a note.
