Welcome back to Facebook Fridays. This short series was started to help digital scrapbook designers make their Facebook presence work better in terms of engagement and post reach. Today's post marks my end in this series. (See the previous post on the blog for my resignation announcement). Please stay tuned to the blog and newsletter for future marketing tips and other resources to support your design business.
Last week, I mentioned there are some places you cannot act as a page. Networking and ad groups are included in this. That means you must always post as your personal profile when interacting here. However, all is not lost in creating additional networking opportunities on these pages. If you take a simple step in your personal profile, you can still keep your group activities connected to your design business.
Here is what my personal profile looked like last week
Right below my name, you can see I had a LIVE link to the CUDigitals fan page. That means if I was out participating in digital scrapbook communities on Facebook, if someone wanted to know where I worked or what I do, they could see CUDigitals and come back to the store's fan page. Then, just like we talked about last week, people could actually interact with the CUDigitals Fan Page. If all someone can see is your personal profile, you have not accomplished much. Having a link to YOUR fan page at the top of your personal identity is like having a live business card available all the time. Don't overlook this!
Linking Your Page in your Profile
1. go to your own profile
2. click on the "update info" button at the bottom of your cover photo
3. Click on work and education
4. Click on add a workplace
5. Start typing in the name of your Facebook Fan page (it should start to fill in for you with your profile logo for your fan page). Add position, and other info.
6. Save changes.
7. Hover your mouse to the right of your business name and click the down triangle by the little earth icon. Change the view to "public" so everyone can see this, not just your friends.
That's it! Now your profile points to your business page and you will not be an unknown participant in Facebook groups.
