Pinterest Tip, Giveaway Winner, New Freebies, Sales and MORE

It’s been such a great week in the store at CUDigitals. There are some amazing new products, sales and freebies. I’m amazed at the talent represented by the designers in the store and am so excited to bring you this week’s news.

PINTEREST TIP
I have become a major Pinterest addict user. Back in the day, I used to collect magazine clippings with scrapping ideas, recipes, household hints and humor in a three ring binder … now I collect these things as pins. It is also a business tool for me as a digital scrapbook designer – I am slowly adding pins of my product line and I also pin my personal digital scrapbooking layouts. These business building pins are built as only a small fraction of my total pins. This week I discovered a couple of really nifty shortcuts that can be used for promotional pins (or any pins really).
These hints can be used with the “Pin It” button. I am in Chrome and it just sits in my menu bar waiting to for me get in some pinning action. I like to make sure I give it a little workout every day hehehe.

1. Auto-filling the text content of the pin. You can copy and paste the words you want displayed with your pin by simply selecting the text from your page with your mouse and hitting CTRL+C to copy it to your clipboard. When you hit the Pin It button, that text will automagically paste into the pin. I LOVE that.
Here’s an example:

If I copy the short product description (“These fabulous frames….”) and pin it, my pin will end up like this

If you don’t copy anything beforehand, the default pin content will be the name of the image.

2. Adding a price banner.

This is COOL! In the pin description, if you type in the price of something with a dollar sign, Pinterest will make a little banner in the upper left corner for you! If you need to change the display price on the pin, just edit it and it will update on the pin.
