Preset Viewer Argus Review and Giveaway
Preset Viewer Argus Review and Giveaway
There are a lot of things that digital designers need to organize and manage. One of those things is the tools and supplies that are used to build papers and embellishments. Some items seem easier to manage and some are little harder, such as program-specific tools and presets that cannot be individually viewed in Windows Explorer.
Normally, when you are browsing your tools folders on your PC, you can’t see what an individual Photoshop style, brush, shape or preset looks like. You may have a preview but it only gives a general view of what is included in the package. I have always found that somewhat frustrating because the only way to find out what the tool actually contained was to load it in Photoshop and view it from there. That involves several steps and in order to keep the program running light, it also means deleting it from Photoshop if it wasn’t what I wanted it.
Now there is a MUCH better solution! Tumasoft has introduced Preset Viewer Argus which has honestly revolutionized how I use my Photoshop presets. It changes how Windows Explorer works so you can see the contents of PS presets right in your folders – there is no other program to load and it works flawlessly.
Let me show you the actual difference in how Windows folders look with and without Argus. First is a screenshot that shows those maddening little icons showing where a preset is in your folders. You can’t tell anything about those things in this folder!
But with Argus installed, you can see THIS. On the left are the same presets as shown in the above folder but now you can see a useful icon on the left AND you can the individual contents of the preset: the preview pane on the right is showing each one of the beveled styles in a set.
Argus handles all types of Photoshop presets: contours, styles, shapes, brushes, swatches, gradients, patterns, as well as smart objects and native Photoshop files. This means you no longer have to open a Photoshop file to see if it’s really the one you wanted! Did you know Photoshop opens files through the Windows Explorer interface? That means when you are in Photoshop, you will be able to see what you are opening up! I LOVE this.
OK, that is all fantastic enough but it actually gets BETTER. The price of Argus is absolutely phenomenal. It’s under $10! And as a special offer to our blog readers, Tumasoft is offering 15% off in their store. You can get Argus at Tumasoft.com. Just use code CUDigitals during the checkout process. (Expires at the end of September)
Plus, we are teaming up with Tumasoft to give away a $20 Gift Certificate to their store. This is a random drawing managed through Rafflecopter and there are 3 ways to enter: leave a comment on this blog post, like CUDigitals on Facebook and/or like Tumasoft on Facebook.

Disclosure: I did not receive any compensation for expressing my opinions on Argus. I personally bought and use this program and loved it so much that I thought it was more than worthwhile to share it with our readers.
